How much does asphalt paving cost?
Prices vary by job size, access, and prep work, but in general, a new asphalt driveway or parking lot costs about the same as buying a used compact car. For tighter budgets, asphalt millings offer a similar look at a much lower price point.
What’s the difference between asphalt and asphalt millings?
Millings are recycled asphalt materials that are compacted to form a solid surface. They’re cheaper than hot mix asphalt, require less maintenance than gravel, and are perfect for rural driveways, lanes, or farm yards.
Why choose asphalt over gravel for a driveway?
Gravel shifts, washes out, and creates ruts over time. Asphalt gives you a clean, smooth surface that won’t wash away, improves curb appeal, and adds long-term value to your property.
Is asphalt better than concrete?
In many cases, yes. Asphalt is faster to install, more affordable, and easier to repair than concrete. It also handles Midwest freeze-thaw cycles better due to its flexibility.
How long does asphalt last?
With proper installation and maintenance (like sealcoating every few years), asphalt can last 15–25 years or longer. Crack filling and timely repairs extend its life even more.
How far will you travel for a project?
We serve a 100-mile radius from Glenwood, IA, including Omaha, Council Bluffs, Plattsmouth, Red Oak, and much of Southwest Iowa and Southeast Nebraska.
Can you do all the dirt work and prep before paving?
Yes—we handle everything from excavation to grading to base prep. You don’t need to hire a separate contractor. We’ll make sure your surface is ready for long-term performance.
Do you handle drainage?
Absolutely. We grade every surface with proper slope and water flow in mind, preventing pooling, erosion, and long-term damage.
Do you offer warranties?
Yes. All of our paving work comes with a workmanship warranty, and we’ll walk you through exactly what’s covered before we begin your project.
How long before I can drive on new asphalt?
Most asphalt jobs are ready for light vehicle traffic in 24–48 hours. We’ll let you know when it’s safe based on weather and conditions.
How often should asphalt be sealcoated?
We recommend sealcoating every 2–3 years to protect your surface from UV rays, water, oil, and wear. It also keeps your asphalt looking rich and black.
Do you stripe parking lots too?
Yes! We offer line striping for new lots and restriping for faded markings—including ADA zones, fire lanes, and directional arrows.
Can you resurface existing asphalt, or does it need torn out?
If the base is solid, we can apply an asphalt overlay instead of tearing everything out. It’s a great way to restore your surface for less money.
Is crack filling worth it?
Absolutely. Filling cracks early stops water from getting under your asphalt, which prevents potholes and extends the life of your driveway or lot.
Is the owner really on site for every job?
Yes—every single one. We’re a small, family-owned business, and our owner, Matt, is always on site to ensure the job is done right and nothing gets missed.
